Kenya Harper’s books are true gifts to our children and to our community. I bought it again for my own daughter because it beautifully reinforces the values I want her to grow up with. I’m deeply grateful that she continues this inspiring work of love.

MY FATHER IS A GREAT MAN is an excellent inspirational book for children. The book focuses on a boy named Brandon who is given an assignment in school. His task is to write a paper about a person in his life from whom he has learned. Brandon chooses his father - a man who has taught him many positive things. But can Brandon remember the many important lessons he has learned from his father over the years? Furthermore, will he be able to get on stage and give his report in front of an audience? Brandon's father has instilled many positive values and Brandon's story will inspire your child in like manner.

I have purchased several of Kenya’s amazing books. They are so needed right now, especially in this culture where money in many cases takes priority over morals, family values, and a sense of worthiness for being human. I have cried real tears in appreciation for Kenya and these books because they provide so much teachable value in great story lines and characters! They provide spiritual guidance, nutritional support, self love stories, examples of positive relationships and best principles of integrity and living in truth. They are designed for children, but great for adults. My favorite is “All Children Can Grow Up to Be Healers.” I’ve read that book over and over again. Amazing Work Kenya! You are Truly Amazing!

Just finished Weird & Wonderful Science Fun with Layla and Erik for probably about the 5th or 6th time, and omg this book is giving STEM vibes meets pure joy. My grandson loves space and everything science so it’s important for him to see children of color doing what he loves ❤️. Layla and Erik make science feel like an adventure instead of a classroom assignment. From the bright colors to the way the experiments pop off the page, it’s literally the perfect combo of learning + laughs + messy fun. The illustrations? 🔥🔥 So vibrant and inclusive—kids can actually see themselves as the next little scientists. The experiments? Easy enough to do at home but still “wow” enough to keep both kids and parents entertained (hello, DIY volcano 🌋). If you’ve got curious grandsons like me, this book is a MUST. It makes science feel less like a lecture and more like a party. 🎉 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 — Totally recommend adding this to your shelf if you want to spark creativity, curiosity, and maybe even a future scientist or two.

I've been there at the beginning with Kenya with her first book, How Tuya Loves Herself. Like all of Kenya's book, it comes from the heart and teaches Black children the importance of self-love and imagination. Thank you, Kenya Harper, for all of your work and words!
